HEALTHY 2019: TIPS FOR A HAPPY & HEALTHY START OF THE NEW YEAR

I like to believe that I live a healthy lifestyle, but one of my aims this year is to live it even healthier. For me, health equals happy because I always feel so much better and happier when I ''live'' a healthy lifestyle with good foods and exercise. It is so important to take good care of your body so here are some tips to remember if you want to start the new year off as a healthy one too. These are all quite simple tips but I think most of us tend to forget the majority of them in our daily lives.

1. REMEMBER TO SMILE
The most simple and maybe also the most important one; smile! Smiling can trick your brain into happiness, even if you feel sad. So even if your smile is not genuine and you don't feel really happy in the moment, you can fake it and there will still happen a chemical reaction in your brain. It might look a little odd to sit and keep faking smiles, but if you want to reduce stress and lower your heart rate, it is definitely worth it!

2. 8 GLASSES OF WATER A DAY KEEPS THE FATIGUE AWAY
Everybody probably tells you this and you read it in every health magazine. REMEMBER TO DRINK WATER! Every evening when I look back at the day I realize I most of the time only had 1 or 2 glasses of water, which is way too less. Since our bodies are made 60% out of water it is important to keep it hydrated. Drinking enough water has a major effect on your energy level through the day, so if you feel tired a lot, try to start drinking more water!
P.S. It also helps with weight loss.

5 beauty tips


1. SCOTCH TAPE
Winter is coming and for me, that means super dry skin. I am sure I am not the only one so a lot of you know this can be so annoying. When you apply makeup and there is a flaky spot, get rid of it with scotch tape. Just put a little piece of tape on the dry spot, rip it off and your skin will look smooth again! This makes applying foundation so much easier and you don't have to exfoliate your already sensitive skin. 


DIY HONEY AND OAT FACE MASK

I guess you can say that I am addicted to face masks. Some of my favorites are fresh face masks from Lush and the cloth masks from Sephora, but I am also a big fan of DIY masks. It just makes you feel so healthy and fresh when you make them yourself.  When I was younger my mom always made me this facemask and I love it so much I wanted to share it with you :) It is super easy to make and you only need 4 ingredients;

2 Tbs. Honey – hydrates and makes your skin soft. Honey is also antibacterial.
1 small cup of Yoghurt – minimizes your pores and gives your face a nice glow. Works against impurities.
3 Tbs. Olive oil – makes your skin silky soft.
1 small cup of Oatmeal – calms the skin and is anti-inflammatory.
